January 17, 2023: In the year 2022, 15,900 foreign trekkers have walked on the Annapurna trail.According to Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) Tourist Check Center Dharapani Among them, 10,364 are men trekkers and 5,536 are women.
Among the tourists, it is said that 2 thousand 12 tourists came from France.According to Bahadur Gurung, tourism assistant of this center, 13,627 more tourists came in 2022 than in 2021.In 2021, 1,562 men and 711 women tourists came to Annapurna trail.According to him, there has been an increase in the number of tourists in the last year compared to the previous years on this footpath, which was affected by the corona virus.He said, ‘Even though it has been affected by the corona virus for a long time, tourists have started to arrive as the risk of infection has gradually decreased.
Similarly, 1,976 tourists came in year 2020.Similarly, according to the center, 36 thousand 647 tourists arrived in 2019, 29 thousand 484 tourists arrived in 2018, and 21 thousand 68 tourists arrived in 2017.
Since the arrival of tourists has been increasing since 2017, the footpath sector has been affected since the first wave of corona infection in 2020.According to Gurung, tourism assistant of the center, there are many tourists coming from neighboring countries such as China, India, Japan, Australia, Britain etc.
