November 05, Solukhumbu: According to the Solukhumbu Police, 39-year-old British citizen Fayne Alec Jarnad Christian died by slipping on High camp while returning from Mera peak today.
According to Police Inspector Rishi Raj Dhakal, Christian, who slipped and fell unconscious in the high camp, was rescued by helicopter and died on the way to Pasang Lhamu Nikolniki Hospital, Lukla. The body of the deceased has been kept at Pasang Lhamu Nikolniki Hospital, Lukla, according to the District Police Office, Solukhumbu.
The hospital said that the body would be sent to Kathmandu only tomorrow as the helicopter could not take off today due to inclement weather.
The team reached Mera peak on October 27.
Mera peak is a 6,476m peak located at Hinku valley, Nepal.
Similarly, the lost Cheten Sherpa cannot be found on Mera peak who was lost while returning from Mera peak due to heavy snowfall.
