April 20, Kathmandu: A foreign national has died in Thamel of Kathmandu. An Irish national died after falling from a hotel in Thamel on Wednesday morning, said Superintendent of Police Dinesh Raj Mainali, spokesperson of the District Police Complex, Kathmandu.
33 years old, Alan Mick Phillips, of Ireland, has died. He was staying at Hotel Manang in Thamel. He died after falling from the roof of the seventh floor at around 2.30 in the morning, said Superintendent of Police Mainali.
Phillips was staying at the hotel with a friend. Police said that they are trying to find out whether his other friends have also come to Nepal or not.
According to Mainali, they arrived in Nepal on April 6. After receiving the news about the incident, a team including the Kathmandu Valley Investigation Office Chief reached the spot.
The body has been sent to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for postmortem.
Police have launched further investigation.
