October 22, 2022: A French citizen who was visiting the Khumbu area has died. According to Solukhumbu District Police Office, 68-year-old Jean Philip from France died.
According to Police Inspector Gyan Bahadur Majhi, he died in a hotel at Lukla after returning from Kalapathar. After that, he was taken to Pasang Lhamu Nikolniki Hospital Lukla for treatment and where he died at night.
According to Tourist Police Office Lukla Solukhumbu, the body was sent to Maharajganj Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu via helicopter after the legal process was completed.
The world’s highest peak Everest region has started to be packed now with local and foreign tourists. At present, the number of tourists reaching the Khumbu area of the district is increasing day by day. With the start of the trekking season, tourism professionals have also reached Lukla.
According to Namche Bazar hotelier Lamakaji Sherpa, hoteliers are very busy in business, while the roads, and hotel lodges of the area are full of tourists.
