April 05, Kathmandu: For the first time, a group of black Americans has come to Nepal to climb Mt. Everest. A group of nine black Americans has arrived in Kathmandu to climb Mt. Everest this spring. They have named their team ‘Full Circle Everest Expedition’.

In 1953, Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa climbed the world’s highest peak for the first time. Since then, more than 10,000 people have climbed Mount Everest. Only one black person from the United States has climbed Mt. Everest.

Phil Henderson, who is building the team, said that only blacks are going to form a group to set a new record on Mt. Everest. According to him, for the first time, a group of all blacks is going to climb Mt. Everest.

Henderson had made similar attempts in 2012 but failed.

To make this plan a success, they have worked on mountaineering training and fundraising.

Henderson said that in the beginning, they used to train alone, but later they did joint training.

As of Tuesday, 138 people from 16 groups have registered to climb the mountain for the spring season.
