October 23, Solukhumbu: Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) has mobilized modern equipment to search for climbers who have lost contact while returning from Mera peak. The union has mobilized equipment and rescuers to search for the missing Cheten Sherpa.

A meeting of the Central Working Committee held on Friday decided to deploy additional manpower to search for Sherpa who has been without contact for the past four days. He was out of contact on the way back after a successful ascent of Mera Peak.

An internationally trained rescue team with state-of-the-art machinery will be deployed to search for Cheten Sherpa, who went missing on his way back from climbing Mera peak. A rescue team of 7 people is scheduled to reach Lukla from Kathmandu and 4 people including one person will go to Mera peak by helicopter.

The association is continuing its search for him in coordination with the company and other government agencies, said Santvir Lama, president of the association.
