December 04, Kathmandu: Flights and landings at Tribhuvan International Airport have been affected due to low visibility due to cloudy weather.

International and domestic flights and landings have not been possible since this morning. Spokesperson of the Tribhuvan International Airport Office Prem Nath Thakur said that seven flights have been held and one flight has been diverted to Lucknow, India.

Spokesperson Thakur informed that the flight of Fly Dubai was diverted to Lucknow due to low visibility.

According to spokesperson Thakur, the visibility is required to be 800 meters for domestic flights and 1600 meters for arrivals.

But now the visibility at the Tribhuvan International Airport is only 500 to 600 meters, which has affected the landing, said spokesperson Thakur.

Passengers are stranded at Tribhuvan International Airport due to the non-availability of flights.

The cyclone in the Bay of Bengal is now having an indirect effect on Nepal. Also, the influence of western wind is in Nepal.

According to the Department of Water and Meteorology, the effect was cloudy all over the country and there was rain in some places and snowfall in the high mountains.
