June 19:The Boeing 737 aircraft carrying 185 passengers made an emergency landing immediately after the takeoff as its left engine caught fire in the eastern Indian state of Bihar.

According to the official, a bird hit the flight’s engine that made an emergency landing in Patna today, damaging three of its fan blades.

There was no indication of the engine fire in the cockpit. It was noticed only by people on the ground and the Air Traffic Control (ATC), Captain Gurcharan Arora, Chief of Flight Operations, SpiceJet told NDTV.

“The aircraft landed safely at the Patna airport after smoke was noticed from one of the left engines of the airplane.

The DM of Patna has informed the media that all plane passengers are safe.
