March 29, 2023: The Annapurna region Trek is one of the most famous trekking routes in Nepal, and it has recently seen an increase in foreign tourists as well as domestic tourists. According to reports, the number of foreign tourists visiting the Annapurna Trek has been steadily increasing since January 2023. In the past three months alone, two thousand four hundred and seventy-five foreign tourists have visited the trek.

The Annapurna Trek is a circular trek that passes through various scenic locations, including Khudi, Bhulbhule, Ngadi, Syange, Jagat, Tal of Manang district, Bagarchhap, Chame, Thorang Pass, and finally, it reaches Muktinath. The trek is well known for its stunning views of the Annapurna mountain range and its cultural significance. The trek covers a distance of approximately 160-230 km, depending on the route taken.

The Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) has been instrumental in promoting the Annapurna Trek and ensuring its preservation. Kshetra Bahadur Gurung, the tourism assistant of ACAP, reported that the daily number of tourists visiting the trek is currently around 4,500. Gurung also noted that the months from September to November and February to April are the best time for trekking on the Annapurna circuit.

Foreign tourists from Israel, Germany, France, Australia, the UK, and the United States are among the most common visitors to the Annapurna Trek. The entry point to the trek is identified as the district headquarters of Lamjung, Besisahar. Besisahar is a small town that serves as the starting point for the Annapurna Circuit trek. The town has a range of accommodation options and restaurants, making it an ideal place for tourists to acclimatize before starting the trek.
