Although the number of people coming from Kathmandu is low, the number of people returning from Lukla is significant, according to the Civil Aviation Authority Lukla. Tourists are also returning by helicopter.

As most of the people visiting Khumbu this season are Nepalis, most of the people returning to Kathmandu at the airport are Nepali nationals, said Achhami.
