The air service, which was suspended due to the inundation of Biratnagar Airport due to unseasonal incessant rains, will resume from Saturday.

All flights and landings from Biratnagar have been suspended since last Tuesday after the runway and parking area was inundated due to flooding in the local Kesalia River due to heavy rains.

According to the Civil Aviation Office at Biratnagar Airport, the flight will be operated only from 7 am to 5 pm tomorrow. After that, the airport will be fully operational depending on the weather conditions and the condition of the airport.

According to the office, the flight will be operated only from 7 am to 5 pm as all the equipment of the airport has not been checked.

Chief of the Civil Aviation Office, Biratnagar, Utsab Kharel said that the flight would resume in the evening only after checking all the equipment at the airport.

As the weather is getting clearer and the water at the airport is drying up, the airlines have said that regular flights will start from Saturday.

They are booking tickets for Saturday’s flight. Airlines have informed that it will start regular flights from Saturday as the weather is getting clearer and the water of the airport is drying up.

Hundreds of passengers have been affected due to the cancellation of daily flights. After the flight service from Biratnagar was disrupted, the airlines were adding flights from Bhadrapur as an alternative to Biratnagar.
