November 28, 2022: The ‘Calibration Flight’ of Pokhara Regional International Airport has been completed. According to the Nepal Civil Aviation Authority, such a flight for the mechanical capability test which started on the 1st of November was completed on Sunday.
According to the authority, there are technicians who can check the mechanical equipment in the calibration flight. They will give the report of the mechanical capability test flight at the airport to the Nepal Civil Aviation Authority in the next three weeks. According to spokesperson Niraula, such a report will take 20/21 days to arrive. Then the authority publishes this report publicly.
If the report gives the report that the airport is suitable for commercial flights, commercial test flights will be conducted at Pokhara International Airport. If the test is successful, the airlines can fly regularly.
The Government of Nepal has announced that the Pokhara Regional International Airport will be operational from January 1, 2023.
