August 26,2022: 52-year-old climber Chun Hui Zhang fell to his death in Mount Rainier National Park in Washington state earlier this week. According to News release climber died Monday while he was descending the Disappointment Cleaver route, a prominent climbing route located on the south side of Mount Rainier in Washington.
Witnesses reported seeing a climber take a “substantial fall” while descending the Disappointment Cleaver route on Mount Rainier’s south side on Monday.
According to the National Park Service, Several attempts were made by mountain climbing guides and rangers to locate the climber but were unsuccessful, his body was recovered using helicopter the day after the fall reported by witnesses.
He was was on a private, recreational climb with friends.
