November 19, Solukhumbu: Due to extreme cold, water has started freezing in the upper part of Khumbu. According to the locals, the water has been freezing for the past week. The water stored in Namche, Pangboche, and other areas has started freezing since the first week of November.
According to Police Post Namche, it has started freezing in the morning due to extreme cold at night. It is difficult to walk in the morning as the frozen water in the ground is melts only after sunset in the afternoon. The temperature in Pangboche has reached minus 4 degrees this morning.
According to the locals, it is difficult to wash one’s hands and face with cold water as the temperature continues to drop.
It is said that the number of tourists returning from the Khumbu area has increased with the cold.
