February 28, Kathmandu: Considering February as the end of the winter climber season for this winter is over. High winds and snow stooped plans on five of the fourteen 8000ers: Everest, Manaslu, Cho Oyu, Nanga Parbat, and K2.

Everest

Jost Kobusch came down. According to his tracker, he was back at an elevation of 5,174m at 7:45 PM Nepal Time his high point was around 7500 meters. Due to the high winds, he spent most of his time in Lobuche.

Cho Oyu

All the Geljie Sherpa team members attempt a last-minute summit push. It was a last-minute try to reach the Cho Oyu summit in winter. According to Geljie Sherpa’s tracker, at around 1 PM Nepal time he reached an elevation of around 7,500m and descended he was back in camp at 7,000 m at around 4:30 PM Nepal time.

No News on another team attempting Cho Oyu.

K2

Grace Tseng and the team returned from Camp 4 due to bad weather. There is no more news from K2 (They are planning further or not).

Manasalu and Nanga Parbat were ended due to Bad weather.
