October 07, Kathmandu: According to the Himalayan database In 1995, Anatoliy Boukreev created history in mountain climbing making the fastest ascent of Mt Dhaulagiri in the autumn season
1995 07 Oct at 06:30 pm, Anatoliy Boukreev started to summit push from basecamp and stood at the top of Mt.Dhaulagiri I(8167m) on 08 Oct at 11:30 am, taking a total duration of 17 hours 15 minutes.
According to the Himalayan database, he made the round trip (BC-summit-BC) in 25 hours, with 2,5 hours waiting at C2 for the winds to die down.
Today a Sherpa climber from Sankhuwasabha has successfully done the second FASTEST ascents of Mt. Dhaulagiri I (8167m).
6 Oct at 11:00 am (Local Time) he started the summit push from the basecamp and stood on the top of Mt. Dhaualgiri on 7 Oct at 10:11 am, taking a total duration of 23 hours and 11 minutes.
This season (Autumn) he made three ascents over 8000’ers, he climbed Mt. Manaslu twice on 23 September / 1 October & finally Mt. Dhaualgiri on 7 Oct.
