June 08, Kathmandu: Flights from Lukla Tenzing Hillary Airport in Solukhumbu have been Canceled since June 03. According to the Office of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, Lukla, all the scheduled flights since June 03 have been canceled due to inclement weather.

Office staff Dipesh Neupane informed that the flight could not take off or land due to thick fog in the airport area.

According to Amrit Magar, station in-charge of Airlines Company Lukla, Nepali and foreign tourists going to Kathmandu were stopped in Lukla when the flight and landing was stopped.

Tourists returning from everest region are also stopped at Lukla.

Some of the tourists have reached Salleri on foot and gone to Kathmandu by road while some tourists are staying in Lukla, said Magar.

At present, about 100 people are waiting for the plane in Lukla.
