August 20, 2022: The number of foreign tourists visiting the Everest region in the ‘off season’ has increased this year. According to Everest National Park office , Namche Solukhumbu said that this year, the number of foreign tourists visiting even after the end of the season has increased compared to previous years.
Last year during this time, only 2/3 foreign tourists came to visit the Khumbu region, but now up to 12/14 people are entering the park daily.
According to the head of Nepal Civil Aviation Authority Lukla, Dwarika Achami, now there are up to three flights daily, while more than two dozen helicopters are flying daily.
There is a rush of tourists in Khumbu especially in two seasons of the year. But this year, even after the end of the season, the tourists are still coming.
