11/12/2023: In the Annapurna circuit route, a foreign citizen traveling from Manang to Thorang Pass towards Mustang was rescued by the Mustang Police on Sunday. In a weakened state due to extreme altitude at Thorang La Pass High Camp along the Annapurna circuit trek, 48-year-old foreign citizen Laurence Chanchory from Varagung, Mustang, was rescued by Mustang Police. He had become incapacitated and fell ill due to the high altitude at the Thorang La Pass High Camp.

The information was provided by Mustang Police Deputy Superintendent Bhojraj Pandey, stating that the local police team from Muktinath Police Office rescued Laurence Chanchory.

Upon receiving information about the foreign citizen falling ill and becoming incapacitated at Thorang La Pass High Camp in Mustang, the police team covered the distance on foot in about two hours, reaching the location by 4 PM. The police team has currently transported the sick foreign citizen Laurence Chanchory to the Jomsom Hospital for medical attention, as informed by Deputy Superintendent Pandey.

Thorang La Pass High Camp in Mustang is situated at an altitude of 4,500 meters above sea level. Along with the sick Laurence Chanchory, two other tourists were also descending from Manang to Mustang via the Thorang Trail, which is a part of the Annapurna circuit trek.
