December 24, Taplejung: Heavy snowfall in the high mountainous region of Taplejung.Snowfall has started in the Himalayan region since Friday morning. According to the locals, snowfall has been reported from the high mountainous areas including Olangchungola, Yangma, Ghunsa, and Phale.
According to local Tenzing Walung, the snow started falling on Friday afternoon at Olangchungola settlement at an altitude of 3,200 meters. Similarly, local Pema Sherpa informed that heavy snow fell in Ghunsa. Sherpa said that it has been snowing in Ghunsa settlement since Thursday night.
According to him, there has been heavy snowfall in the high mountainous areas and continuous snowfall in Ghunsa, Phale, and other settlements. He informed that the people’s life has been affected due to the snowfall up to the settlement.
He said that it was difficult for people to get out of their houses due to the cold after the snowfall.
There has been snowfall in the famous pilgrimage site Pathibhara. According to the priest Dilli Acharya, about one foot or more snow has frozen in the Pathibhara Dham premises.
