October 25, Kathmandu: Four persons have been rescued from Makalu Base Camp of Makalu Village Municipality-2 of Sankhuwasabha.

Four Nepalis trapped in the snow of Makalu base camp were rescued by helicopter on Monday.

Anoj Chudal of Kathmandu, Jung Kulung Rai of Solukhumbu, Deepak Kulung Rai, and Dinendra Kulung Rai were rescued by helicopter and taken to Solukhumbu on Monday afternoon, said team member Neeraj Karki.

Seven Nepalese, including three foreign tourists, had reached the Makalu base camp to climb the world’s fifth-highest Makalu mountain.

According to Karki, Bishnu Kulung Rai and Tenzing Bhote of Solukhumbu are yet to be rescued.According to Karki, Bishnu and Tenzing are in Langmale of Makalu Municipality-2.Karki and two Danish nationals who were trapped in the snow of Makalu base camp were rescued by helicopter and taken to Kathmandu on Sunday.

A team of 10 people including three foreign tourists had gone to Makalu base camp via Taplejung

Thorvajan Ederson, a Danish national who had reached the camp to climb Makalu, had died. He is still in the base camp four days after his death last Friday.
