December 09, Kathmandu: An Indian tourist has died in the Himalayan district of Mustang due to altitude sickness. According to the District Police Office, Mustang, the deceased has been identified as 60 years old Baikrishna Bedi, of Amalapur, Andhra Pradesh India.

A team of 14 Indian tourists had come to Mustang on Thursday to visit Muktinath temple. The deceased Indian woman had fallen unconscious in the jeep park of Waragung Muktikshetra-1 of Mustang at around 4 pm while returning from Jomsom in a jeep.

she was rushed to Jomsom Hospital for treatment and died at the hospital at around 5 pm, said Ashish Adhikari, Inspector at the District Police Office, Mustang. Police have started the necessary investigation into the incident.

Extreme cold has increased in Mustang along with winter. Police have speculated that the dead Indian tourist may have died due to altitude sickness.
