May 07, Kathmandu: A female trekker from Mumbai, India died due to altitude sickness during the Everest Base camp trek, sources said.
Pradnya Ashwin Samant, 55 fell ill while staying at Hotel. After feeling ill she was rushed to the Gokyo International Clinic
She died during treatment at Gokyo International Clinic at 2.30 PM in Gokyo on Friday. Sources added.
Her body is airlifted to Kathmandu today.
She is the second person from Maharashtra who died in the Himalayas of Nepal recently Narayan Iyer died while summiting Mt Kangchenjunga
