According to Indian media, plans to start international flights from December 15 have been postponed due to fears of a new Omicron variant of Covid-19.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) of India on Wednesday issued a circular stating that it is closely monitoring the latest Omicron and will provide timely information on the launch date of international commercial flights to or from India.

After the discovery of a new variant of concern, the situation is being closely monitored in consultation.

Everyone will be informed about the date of resumption of international commercial flights by making a decision.
