24, Oct 2022: A 75-year-old Irish woman has died after an accident in the Tramuntana Mountains in Mallorca on Sunday. According to news reports the woman lost her balance while hiking and slipped to her death while walking a popular hiking trail which is a mountain range that runs southwest to northeast and stretches the length of the Spanish island of Mallorca.
She was with a group of 12 other hikers when she fell and sustained serious head injuries.According to the Majorca Bulletin, the Irish woman suffered fatal injuries while out walking in a steep area of Pas d’en Segarra, near Puig de Roig in Escorca.
immediately her group called or emergency assistance and the Mallorca Fire Brigade and Guardia Civil mountain rescue units, and the Guardia helicopter rushed to the scene. She was pronounced dead by medics on the scene.
