June 12, Kathmandu: The Chitwan National Park is going to close the tourist activities inside the park from June 12.
The activities including jungle safari and jungle walk inside the park are being stopped. According to the park’s information officer Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, the activities have been halted because as soon as the monsoon starts, the unpaved forest paths inside the park will deteriorate, and small rivers will be flooded and the road may be blocked due to falling trees.
“Tourist activities have been suspended until further notice,” he said. The park stops such activities during the rainy season every year. He also informed us that the boat safari on Rapti river has been stopped.
