July 24: 61-year-old Canadian climber Richard Cartier of Quebec has gone missing from the world’s second highest mountain K2d while descending from Camp 3 to base camp on Friday evening.
According to base camp sources, he was last spotted while descending from Camp 2 to Camp 1. Richard is yet to be found, despite rescue efforts.
Richard Cartier with his team members Matthew Eakin and Justin Dube-Fahmy were descending from an acclimatization round after 16 hours of climbing they touched lower C4 (7600m). They were pretty tired according to Justin Dube-Fahmy.
Incident happened when they were descending from Camp 2 to Camp 1.

Broad Peak Rescue Update
Romanian climber who was injured on broad peak is taken to base camp by Chileans. He is now receiving medical assistance and waiting for evacuation.
