March 29, Kathmandu: World-renowned climbing guide Kamirita Sherpa is set to climb Mt. Everest for the 26th time this spring.

He set a world record by successfully climbing Mt. Everest for the 25th time last year. According to Kami Rita Sherpa, he is preparing to climb the mountain this year by leading a route fixing team of seven Sherpas. He had led the route fixing team even last year.

52 years old Sherpa, told that he intends to work in the mountains as long as his body allows. He said that since foreign climbers demand experienced climbers like Kamirita Sherpa during the ascent, Kamirita Sherpa has to climb to help in safe ascent and rescue.

Kami Rita Sherpa, who was born in Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Gaonpalika-5 Thame of Solukhumbu, has been working in the mountaineering field since the age of 13.

Kami Rita Sherpa, who first climbed Mt. Everest in 2051 B.S at the age of 24, has climbed Mt. Everest once from the northern Tibetan face and the rest from 2051 B.S to 2078 B.S for the 24th time from the southern face.
