December 31, 2022: A Korean trekker died while trekking in the Everest base camp area. According to sources, he went Everest base camp trek without a trekking guide.

Lee Myungkap, a Korean tourist who fell ill due to the high altitude during his trek at an altitude of 4040 meters, died on Wednesday. Police said that he was taken to Lukla for treatment but died on the way.
