May 27, Kathmandu: Norweigan athlete Kristin Harila successfully scaled Mt Makalu today at 09:50 am Nepal time, Setting a new world record for the fastest ascent of six 8,000ers.

Nepalese Female climber Purnima Shrestha along with Mr.Lakpa Norbu Sherpa also climbed Mt Makalu today at 10:50 am Nepal time.

All climbers are now descending from the mountain. according to Kristin’s tracker, they are descending slowly due to bad weather.

According to expedition organizers Kristin Harila from Norway, Pasdawa Sherpa and Dawa Ongju Sherpa from Nepal completed six 8000er in 29 Days.

The new record set by Harila is two days ahead of the last record made by Nirmal Purja for the fastest climb of six 8000er.

Kristin Harila along with her climbing guide started their mission from Mt Annapurna, They scaled Mt Annapurna on April 28, and on May 08 they summited Mt Dhaulagiri, On May 14 they climbed Mt Kangchenjunga, Similarly on May 22 she scales Mt Everest and Lhotse.

She aims to climb all 14 peaks above 8000m in a shorter time. If everything goes according to plan Kristin along with her team leave for Pakistan on June 09.
