April 11, Kathmandu: Female Climber Lakpa Sherpa, who has set a world record by climbing Mt. Everest many times, is going to climb Mt. Everest again to break her own record. Lakpa, who has successfully climbed mt Everest nine times, is heading to the base camp for the 10th ascent.
Lakpa Sherpa has already climbed Mt. Everest in 2000, 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2016, 2017, and 2018. After this year’s ascent, she will set a new record. Earlier, Sherpa had climbed Mt. Everest only once from Nepal and eight times from the Tibet side. According to the Expedition company, Lakpa will go to Everest with a team of 39 people, including 15 American climbers, in the role of guide.
Lakpa Sherpa is the first Nepali woman to climb Mt. Everest for the second time after Pasang Lhamu Sherpa.
In 2016 she was listed as one of the BBC’s 100 women.
