September 27, 2022: On September 26 an avalanche hit 13 people and killed one in Manaslu. According to sources, some climbers reportedly avoided an avalanche that struck below C-4 and reached the true summit of Manaslu the same day. They crossed 8,000m at this time.
Legendary climber Sanu Sherpa who scaled all 14 peaks twice stood atop the real summit of Mt Manaslu making the second summit of the 8163-meter peak in just five days . Ekaterina Safronova and Marila Oglobleva also scaled Manaslu becoming the first twin sisters from Russia to reach the true summit of Mt Manaslu they were guided by Pemba Tashi Sherpa and Gyaljen Sherpa, who also became the first brothers to reach the Manaslu real summit.
Pakistani climber sajid sadpara also stood atop the real summit the same day becoming the first Pakistani to climb the ‘True Summit’ of Manaslu.
