December 12,Kathmandu:Mountain Advocacy Summit is to be organized to draw the attention of the world powers to the problems faced by the mountainous region due to climate change.

In connection with the International Mountain Day, it has been announced that the Mountain Advocacy Summit-2022 will be held in Mustang on March 13 and 14 in a program organized in Kathmandu on Saturday.

The Mountain Initiative and Karnali Integrated Rural Development and Research Center (KIDARC), Nepal will organize a mountain conference to draw attention to the problems, challenges, possibilities and opportunities faced by the mountainous region at national, regional and international level, said Min Bahadur Shahi of KIDARC.

He said that the conference is being held for the conservation of mountain biodiversity, mountain snow, water resources, place of origin of civilization and tourism development.

Govinda Bahadur Shahi, executive director of KIDARC, said that the conference was believed to have a positive impact on the policy level.

According to the organizers, the conference is being held in Mustang as the avalanche in Tukuche Himal of Mustang has seriously affected everyone.

The conference will be attended by national and international experts to discuss climate change and its impact on mountainous areas
