May 06, Kathmandu: Indian Climber Narayan Iyer (52) died at 8,200 m during a summit push on Thursday evening, Sources said.

He was from Maharashtra, India. He dies when he was heading towards the summit point of Mt Kangchenjunga.

According to his expedition organizing company, he refused to descend even after he fell ill while ending the climb. His guide was repeatedly asking for decent but he refused to obey.

There was no fall or accident reported.

His family members are already informed about the casualty.

According to sources, the body of Narayan Iyer is still on the way to the summit. Sherpas are attempting to retrieve the body from the death zone.

Other climbers who summited Mt Kangchenjunga yesterday are now descending to base camp.
