April 25, Kathmandu: The national flag carrier Nepal Airlines Corporation (Nepal Airlines) will operate three flights a week to Narita, Japan. The corporation has been operating two flights a week to the Kathmandu-Narita destination and will operate three flights a week from May 1, 2022.
The corporation plans to operate flights to the destination three days a week on Sunday, Tuesday and Friday, the corporation said in a statement today. According to Japanese government regulations, a total of 140 passengers can be carried on Sunday and Tuesday flights and only 120 passengers on Friday flights.
The corporation said that the number of flights was increasing especially after the Covid epidemic as the pressure on air passengers increased and the number of seats was less than the demand.
As the Kathmandu-Narita aircraft, has to carry less than half the capacity of passengers, the fare has become a bit expensive at present.
The corporation has also requested the Japanese embassy in Nepal to increase the number of seats in Kathmandu-Narita sector.
