May 06, Kathmandu: The Nepal Army has collected 13,781 kg of garbage from four mountains including Everest. The Nepal Army has stated that they collected more than 13,000 kg of garbage under the clean mountain campaign 2022, which was started on April 5.

The army has collected garbage from Mount Everest, Lhotse, Kangchenjunga, and Manaslu. According to the army, 4,968 kg of garbage has been collected from Mount Everest and Lhotse, 5,989 kg from Kangchenjunga, and 2,864 kg from Manaslu.

Out of the collected garbage, 1,013 kg is decomposable and 12,268 kg is non-decomposable, according to the Army.

The campaign will be conducted till June 05.

The army aims to collect 14 tons of garbage from Mount Everest, 10 tons from Kanchanjungha, 6 tons from Lhotse, and 5 tons from Manaslu. Out of this, 13 tons will be collected from the area above the base camp and 22 tons will be garbage around the base camp.
