February 02, Kathmandu: According to the Meteorological Department, Department of Water and Meteorology, there is a possibility of cloud, snow, and hail/lightning in most parts of the country including Kathmandu Valley due to the effect of the western low-pressure system entering from western Nepal from Wednesday night.
The department has requested to take necessary precautions to avoid the cold and snowfall as the weather system may affect the daily life of the people including airspace, mountaineering, agriculture, and transportation.
The low-pressure system developed from the western wind has now developed in the Nepali sky. The same system has developed the possibility of hail and rain.
On Thursday, there will be normal to full cloud cover in Far West, Karnali, Lumbini and Gandaki provinces and partial to normal cloud cover in Bagmati, Madhesh Pradesh, and Province 1. Light to moderate rain with thunderstorm/thunderstorm is expected in most parts of hilly terrain and Terai.
Light snowfall is expected at most places in the hilly and mountainous terrain of Far-Western, Karnali, Lumbini and Gandaki provinces and in some parts of the high hilly and mountainous terrain of Bagmati and Province No. 1.
On Thursday night, there will be normal to complete cloud cover across the country. Light to moderate rain with thunderstorms is expected in some parts of the country. Light snowfall is expected in many parts of the country.
On Friday, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in many parts of the hills and terai of the country. There is also a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places of Gandaki and Lumbini states. There is a possibility of light to moderate snowfall in many places of the high hilly and mountainous terrain of the country. In the central and eastern regions, the effect will remain.
From Saturday afternoon, the sky will start to clear from the far west.
