January 16, Kathmandu: Taiwanese Winter K2 Expedition team with Nepalese sherpa climbers reached Skardu in Pakistan. They are attempting to climb Mount K2(the world’s second-highest mountain ) in Winter.
The team will guide Tseng Ko-Erh who is trying to set the record as the first woman to scale Mt K2 in the winter season. According to Sherpa “We are now at Skardu and will leave for K2 base camp soon,”.
The team consists of Tseng Ko-Erh, Nima Gyalzen Sherpa, Chhiring Sherpa, Ngima Tendi Sherpa, Furu Sherpa, Ningma Dorje Tamang, and Dawa Sherpa.
Tseng Ko-Erh who also became the first Taiwan woman to scale the Mt Kanchenjunga in last spring season had also climbed Mt Everest, Mt Lhotse, Mt Manaslu, and Mt Dhaulagiri said sherpa. She aims to be the youngest woman to climb all 14 peaks above 8000 m.
