December 12, 2022: Nepal’s department of tourism has collected twice as much revenue by issuing mountain climbing permits in the season in fall of this year as compared to the last year. Department collected Rs 93 million rupees this year. last year department collected 40.6 million. 

The department gives permission for mountain climbing twice a year. the department opens mountain climbing in the months of March, April, and May (spring season) and in September, October, and November (autumn season).

According to this year’s data, the highest revenue has been collected from the 8,163-meter-high Manaslu mountain in autumn. Department has collected around Rs 46.2 million in revenue from Manaslu. 

After Manaslu, the highest revenue amount is collected from Mt Ama Dablam(6,814m). The department has collected Rs 24.2 million in revenue from Ama Dablam.

After Ama Dablam, the department has collected Rs 5.1 million from Mt Himalung(7,126m).

Mt Dhaulagiri is in fourth place in terms of revenue collection. From Mt Dhaulagiri, (8,167) department has collected Rs 3.8 million in revenue.

Mt Everest is in the fifth position in terms of revenue collection. Rs 3.5 million was collected from Mt Everest.

Similarly, Baruntse, Saribung, Thapa, and other mountains collected Rs 1.3 million, Rs 353,000, and Rs 640,000 respectively.
