September 19, 2022: Renowned climber Nirmal Purja aka Nimsdai met with an accident while gliding off the Manaslu base camp this afternoon he has been airlifted to Kathmandu  from Samagaun to HAMS Hospital sources said.
According to sources, he apparently struck a rock while taking off for a paragliding flight at the base camp.
According to Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation of Nepal he has obtained a permit to conduct a feasibility study on paragliding from the 8163-metre peak.
According to HAMS Hospital He suffered minor injuries on his back and he has been advised to take rest for a couple of days.
Nirmal purja told to THT online “he was all fine and would be returning to Manaslu base camp tomorrow morning”.
