February 07, Surkhet: The paragliding flight, which was shut down seven years ago due to lack of manpower and capital in Surkhet, has resumed operations from Saturday. Paragliding has resumed in Surkhet on Saturday after Karnali State President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Padma Bahadur Shahi formed a business partnership with Babu Adventure Group.
Shahi operated a paragliding flight in Surkhet in 2071 BS through Welcome Paragliding. He said that in the past, due to lack of capital and manpower, it had to be closed within a year. Stating that Karnali can be identified with adventure tourism, he said that he has started paragliding and now 50 percent concession will be given more than in the past.
Paragliding will be conducted from Bayalkanda Gadhi of Birendranagar Municipality-14 to the Krishna Municiplatiy Forest area of ​​Birendranagar-1. Sanubabu Sunuwar, a paragliding operator and operator of Shahi’s business partner Babu Adventure Group, expressed happiness over the resumption of paragliding in Surkhet and said that it would be continued now. According to him, 12 flights will be operated daily in Surkhet.
As Surkhet is an excellent place for paragliding, the goal is to organize an international adventure sport here after two years, he said. Sunuwar said that he would teach paragliding to the trainees as there is a good potential for adventure tourism in Karnali.
The Surkhet Chamber of Commerce and Industry has also welcomed the launch of paragliding in Surkhet after seven years.
