April 03, Solukhumbu: The team of Icefall doctors has reached Camp 1 on Everest. Lama Kaji Sherpa, the vice-chairman of the Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee (SPCC), informed that the team of Icefall Doctor, who left Namche on March 12, started the work on March 22.

He said that eight experienced icefall doctors have been deployed to fix the route and the work of fixing the route from the base camp to Camp 1 has been completed. The SPCC, in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, has been working since 2054 BS to fix a route up to the second camp of Everest.

Icefall Doctor fixes the route from the base camp of Everest to the second camp. Sherpa said that the team had placed about 12 ladders on the route.

Mount Everest, Lhotse, and Nuptse are climbed through the Everest base camp. According to the SPCC, 32 ladders were used in 2018, only 20 were used in 2019. Depending on the condition of the route, the number of ladders may vary.

According to the Department of Tourism, 85 people from nine groups have so far obtained permission to climb Mt. Everest.
