December 13, Kathmandu: Mingma Sherpa, Chhang Dawa Sherpa, and Tashi Lakpa-Three Sherpa brothers departed from Kathmandu to join an expedition to Antarctica (the last degree º – the South Pole and Mount Vinson ) Monday with the mission to climb seven summits on seven continents.

The team will spend one month in Antarctica. if the team accomplishes it will be considered as the first Nepalese team and the first three siblings to do so.

The team met the Nepalese prime minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and they were handed over the national flag of Nepal to take on their expedition.

Mt Vinson is a large mountain in Antarctica that is 21Km long and 13 Km wide. Mt Vinson is also the highest peak in Antarctica, at 4,892 meters (16,050 ft) which is also known as the Geographic South Pole or Terrestrial South Pole.
