January 02, Pokhara: Hotels in Pokhara are 80 percent full of locals and foreigners coming to celebrate the English New Year.
The hotels and restaurants are full of tourists who have come to participate in the road festival organized by the Restaurant and Association of Nepal (Rewan) on the occasion of the New Year.
According to Western Hotel Association, there are 1,000 tourist hotels in Pokhara. Of these, there are only 700 hotels around the lakeside. and there are more than 30,000 beds in these hotels.
They said that all the hotels around Lakeside were fully filled and hotels around Pokhara were also 80 percent booked. Before the Corona epidemic, hotels in Pokhara used to be full during the English New Year street festival.
“Rewan,” Chairman Laxman Baral said that more people came to Pokhara for this year’s festival than last year’s.
He said that the number of Indian tourists coming to celebrate the New Year at the Road Festival has increased significantly this year.
The road festival was started 23 years ago in the English New Year to make the business of Pokhara dynamic even in the off-season.
