September 20,2022: A guide who fell ill due to altitude sickness has died in Everest region. Guide Kamal Shrestha, who fell ill in Lobuche while returning from three passes trek with Korean citizens, died.

He went to Kalapatthar lodge after felling ill in Lobuche. District Police Office Solukhumbu said that Shrestha, who was staying at Kalapatthar Lodge in Thukla, was found dead in the toilet on Tuesday morning. after leaving Korean in Lobuche.

After finding Shrestha dead in the toilet, the lodge’s cook informed Yangji Sherpa, the lodge director who was living in Namche. After receiving the news, the police went to the scene of the incident.

Police said that more details about the incident are yet to come. He had taken four Korean citizens from Kathmandu to Three Passes trek.
