March 23, 2023: Two Nepalese trekkers were successfully rescued on Thursday morning. Nepalese trekker Saurabh Khanal, 26, and Anita Ghale, 22, who hail from Eastern Nawalparasi Nepal, were trapped in the snow while heading towards the Larke La pass during the Manaslu circuit trek. However, the prompt and efficient response of a security team rescued them and brought them to safety.

The rescue team was mobilized as soon as they received information about the trapped trekkers on Wednesday evening. Despite the remote location of the incident, the team acted quickly and managed to bring Khanal and Ghale to safety in Chumnu Buri Municipality, where they received shelter and were able to have a hot meal. They were later airlifted to Gorkha Headquarters by a helicopter from the Nepali Army.

The Chief District Officer of Gorkha, Dinesh Sagar Bhusal, expressed his relief at the successful rescue operation and the safety of the trekkers. He also noted that it was not clear how the trekkers had reached such a remote location.

The rescue of Khanal and Ghale is a testament to the bravery and professionalism of the security team who risked their own safety to save the lives of these two individuals. It is also a reminder of the unpredictable nature of trekking in mountainous areas and the importance of being adequately prepared for such journeys.

We can all breathe a sigh of relief knowing that Khanal and Ghale are safe and sound. This successful rescue operation is a glimmer of hope and positivity in what has been a challenging time for many.
