In the evening before the English New Year, Thamel, a tourist hub, hosted a Road Festival attended by 130,000 tourists, as claimed by the organizer, Thamel Tourism Development Council.

The president of the council, Bhawiswar Sharma, mentioned that there were no disputes, clashes, or incidents during this year’s festival. He said, “We successfully concluded the Road Festival in a peaceful and civilized manner. Over 130,000 participants, including foreign and domestic tourists, joined. The participation of all Thamel businesses was also enthusiastic. Hotels in Thamel were fully occupied during the festival day, and even the nightlife businesses were bustling.”

Sharma highlighted the significant support provided by the Thamel Road Festival in boosting both domestic and international tourism. He stated, “We have been organizing Road Festivals during major events like the English New Year and Nepali New Year, contributing to the growth of tourism. Now, Thamel’s streets are equipped with CCTV cameras, ensuring a safe stay and dining experience for tourists. Every detail has been managed well in Thamel, ensuring a secure and organized environment.”
