Oct,14,2023: A Russian woman climber, Nadezhda Oleneva, aged 38, has gone missing after falling into a crevasse at an altitude of over 6,000 meters on Mt. Dhaulagiri earlier today. The incident occurred at approximately 11:25 a.m. when a team of three Russian climbers embarked on an ambitious ascent of Dhaulagiri without the use of a base camp or Sherpa support.

Reports indicate that Nadezhda Oleneva fell into the crevasse from an altitude of around 6,680 meters. Her fellow climbers, Roman Abildaev and Radom Kashapov, who are currently situated above the base camp, reported her position as approximately 500 meters below their location based on GPS coordinates. All three climbers had undertaken the challenging climb in an alpine style, opting not to use supplemental oxygen.

Efforts are now underway to initiate a search and rescue mission to locate and assist Nadezhda. Iswari Poudel, Sources, confirmed that rescue operations are being organized to locate the missing climber.
