According to Bhumiraj Upadhyay, chief conservation officer at the office of Sagarmatha National Park, Namche from January 15 to 17, 68 foreigners, 3 from SAARC countries, 2 Nepalese, 18 Potters, and 4 guides visited Khumbu. Most of the hotels in the Everest region, which are crowded with tourists during the season, are currently closed and the hotel owners have gone elsewhere to escape the winter.

Lamakaji Sherpa, a tourist businessman from Namche, said that most of the hoteliers from Lukla, Jorasalle, Phakding, Namche, Khumjung, Tengboche and other places on the tourist route have gone to Kathmandu to escape the cold, while some of them go to Lumbini, Pokhara, India and other places for pilgrimage.
