2023/10/29: In a heartbreaking incident, a foreign tourist has met with a tragic end in the Everest region. The deceased, identified as Jan Ros, a 46-year-old visitor from the Czech Republic, was on an adventure trek in the renowned Everest region, home to the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest. This sorrowful news was confirmed by Anil Mishra, the spokesperson for the Solukhumbu District Police Office.
The unfortunate event unfolded on a Wednesday, as the foreign national lost his life at an altitude of approximately 500 meters below Everest. The incident was reported at around 1 PM, sending shockwaves through the region. To facilitate necessary procedures and bring the deceased back to civilization, an Altitude Helicopter has airlifted his body to Kathmandu.
